Questions about vaccinations

Are vaccines free in Alberta?

Flu, COVID-19, pneumonia, tetanus and RSV vaccines are publicly funded for eligible Albertans. Shingles, HPV, hepatitis, typhoid and travel vaccines are private, and many health plans reimburse them. Our pharmacist confirms your eligibility at your appointment. If a fee applies to you, we tell you before your vaccine and you pay at the pharmacy. Nothing is paid online.

When are flu and COVID-19 shots available?

Flu and COVID-19 vaccines are seasonal and can be booked from early October to the end of April. We give flu shots from age 5 and COVID-19 vaccines from age 12. Younger children can be vaccinated through Alberta Health Services public health clinics.

What should I bring to my appointment?

Each person's Alberta Personal Health Card and photo ID, plus a vaccination record if you have one. Wear a top that gives easy access to your upper arm.

Can I get more than one vaccine at the same visit?

Often, yes. Select every vaccine you are interested in when you book, and our pharmacist will advise what is right for you at your visit.

When should I book travel vaccines?

Eight weeks before you leave is ideal, and three to six weeks still works well, because some travel vaccines need more than one dose or time to take effect. Book a travel consultation and our pharmacist will review your itinerary with you. Leaving within two weeks? Please call us.

How do I cancel or change my appointment?

Use the link in your confirmation email to cancel at any time before your appointment, then book a new time. You can also contact the pharmacy.

Can I book for my whole family at once?

Yes. Add up to 7 people to one booking and choose vaccines for each person. Everyone gets their own appointment, one after another, and you share one phone number and email.
